Love Bug
The first one asked the other “So how did he actually woo you?”
Chin supported on her middle legs gently stroking her horns with the front two,
Dreamily looking at the moon she says “Those lovely eyes and a lot of bullshit”

Jewelry Enamel
Sunday evening, Balan explains the whole process of Jewellery Enamel Painting.
It seems these dull dyes go into the furnace, come out red hot, cool down to transform into these shining marvels.
After we are done with all the cakes and bakes and other goodies by Aditi we come back to the topic.
So how do you figure out how it will look when it is done?
He says, Only with acquired skill, and lot experience, you can actually visualize what it will look like.
You cannot predict easily, most dyes totally change colour when they come out of the heat.
Same with people.
Little bit of heat brings out the true colour and brilliance.
And you need loads of experience to be a good judge.

Dachau
Sunday Evening.
Friend comes back from Germany with a bottle of Mexican Tequila.
After the second shot, cutting another lemon I ask “How come you never visited all the places in Germany. Any historical place I mean.”
“Well we were supposed to go see the Dachau Concentration Camp place but then too much work. Stayed back in office, check out these snaps”
We down three more shots each after that.
Who cares if its working day tomorrow!!!

Diggers
My favorite place for lunch used to be the last table next to the window.
There we used to sit and watch these people digging the road and the Autos and the Buses.
The diggers and the drivers synchronizing their efforts to produce maximum interruption of traffic on Langford Road and of course entertainment for us.
They would dig dig dig all the time.
Start digging from this end and before they reached the other end, started digging again from this end.
It looked so foolish.
And the worst part was that they would take to digging right in the middle of the day.
When the sun was at its worst. I am sure that kind of exposure to sun would cause some kind of permanent brain damage.
I wanted to say “Hey!!! Go sit in the shade now. You can come back and work in the evening”
I was so obsessed with watching them I would go for coffee alone, sit facing the window and watch them till they wound up for the day.
Then I thought…
What would the diggers think of people in the prime of their lives, working for ten years on the same product, sitting, staring at a tube for hours, back towards the remaining human population in the room, no physical activity, nothing to go home to, except for may be another tube.
Why they never stood there looking at me.
Realized that the glass of my building is opaque from the outside and went back to work.
