Soulitudes | Creative Exploration: "About the musician - Raghupathy Dixit
The Raghu Dixit Project, founded by Raghupathy Dixit, is an open house for musicians and artistes from different genres to come together, collaborate and create a dynamic sound and expression. Though a gold medalist in Masters in Microbiology and a proficient Indian Classical Dancer (Vidwat in Bharatnatyam), Raghupathy Dixit is now known more as a self-taught guitarist-singer-composer-song writer-musician, based in Bangalore. As the founder-front man of his band ‘Antaragni’ for more than eight years, and now of ‘The Raghu Dixit Project’, Raghu has performed more than 250 concerts all over India. His band ‘The Raghu Dixit Project’ is all set to launch its debut album through Phat Phish Records."

Feels SO GOOD to see each rise in Raghu's career! Won't wax eloquent on it here, but just borrow my own words of long ago, on perhaps Raghu's first site - Antaragni. http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/9669/rd.htm. (Only the first para is mine!) It's 5 years since then, I can still say use the same exhuberant superlatives to describe Raghu's music and stage presence!
And I miss him at office! When he was here, I was not the loudest person around!!! He gave me company to inject sober team meetings with wild whacky laughter (we used to pull our team lead's legs like mad and get away with it!! "You wicked children!", she used to say!!) and the thick boredom of dull cafeteria afternoons broken by our loud singing ("O Cecilia! You're breaking my heart...."!!) and drumming on the table!! (Tough window panes,I must say!)
And I still remember Raghu sitting in the corner of the cafeteria playing the guitar facing the wall, because I wanted to organize Musical Chairs and didn't have music!!! One rollicking good sport he was!!
Yo Raghu, here's to your continued success! And your inimitable loud laughter and sheer exhuberance! Thanks for all the joy you bring!
